A small team of Eco Green Initiative members hiked up to the Muuni Summit Eco Green Initiative tree planting area on 3 December 2022.
The Team, comprising the Team Leader Mwanzia Kyule, Organizing Secretary Henry Mutinda, Secretariat Member Christine Kyule, Member Eunice Mbithe, Joseph Maundu Malonza, Munyao Mwololo (Kiiunyu), Kimilu Nguli among others were able to plant around 200 indigenous trees seedlings and broadcast 10kgs of indigenous seeds Seed Balls.
The Team observed that growth of tree seedlings from previous planting seasons has been affected by livestock grazing and the draught that affected the region in 2022. We are however happy to report a survival rate of about 65%.
