Emali Town WED Bus Park Tree Planting and Clean Up, 5th June 2020

EGI Team led by EGI Vice-Chairperson Nick Muthoka and Coordinator Michael Koka planted 20 trees, participated in environment public awareness campaigns, cleaned up Emali Town, and Bus Park to mark this year’s World Environment Day (WED) 2020.

The theme this year was ‘Time for Nature’

EGI was able to achieve the following key objectives during the event:

  1. Creation of Public Awareness about clean living and working environment.
  2. The town was cleaned up and 20 trees were planted.
  3. Garbage bins were installed in several locations in the town
  4. Through Public Awareness campaigns and participations, Emali Town residents and the business community are now more aware of the existence and purpose of EGI.
  5. The event enhanced understanding, partnership, cooperation, and better relationship between EGI and relevant County Government departments at local and sub-county levels.
  6. The event proved to communities that EGI is not a political organization and that our interests and the main focus are on the development of a better and greener community.
  7. Improved and strengthened relationships between EGI, the National Government and County Government (DCC, ACC, Police)

We thank everyone for their support and participation. Together we can do so much more! Every tree counts!
